Dr. Richard Savage

Richard Savage is an experienced law enforcement professional with a Ph.D. in criminology. With his experience in specialized police units, administration, and investigations, he has held important leadership roles and responsibilities. Dr. Savage began his law enforcement career in a large municipal police department where he was selected to join an undercover deployment unit focused on violent crimes. He later moved to a medium sized law enforcement municipal agency where he served and supervised many different units including patrol, traffic, street crimes, dignitary protection details, K-9, internal affairs, hiring, training, and investigations. Dr. Savage was selected to be a commander toward the end of his tenure in law enforcement where he directed day shift operations through the COVID-19 pandemic and community marches. After retiring from law enforcement, Dr. Savage served as the Vice President of Human Resources for a growing company where he developed and implemented the foundational blocks for their internal culture. He is passionate about service to others and law enforcement as seen through his work with his community, law enforcement, and academic research. Dr. Savage is a published author on the profile of law enforcement chief executives.
